Implementation of mobile TMS treatment for Montana’s Veterans: Considerations for Expanding Care

December 1 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Speaker: Michelle Madore

This presentation explores how mobile TMS can expand access to care for rural Veterans, using Montana’s Mobile Medical Unit program as a model. Participants will learn how the program combines a five-day accelerated iTBS protocol with telehealth supervision, a trained provider network, and on-site safety staffing to bring treatment closer to patients. The presentation will address implementation logistics, practical barriers, and real-world outcomes, including considerations for adapting this approach to other communities.

Key learning objectives include:

  • Describe barriers to TMS access for rural Veterans and how mobile delivery, accelerated treatment, and telehealth supervision may address these challenges.
  • Identify the staffing, training, safety, and logistical considerations involved in implementing a mobile TMS program.
  • Evaluate real-world outcomes and limitations of the Montana mobile TMS model to inform adaptation in other communities.
