It is an honor to step into the role of President, and what a way to begin — with an extraordinary Annual Meeting in Boston this past June. We welcomed 749 attendees from 26 countries, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive: 95% rated the content as high quality and scientifically sound, and 94% said their personal objectives for attending were met. Just as importantly, many of you shared thoughtful feedback on how we can make future meetings and society membership even better — and we are listening. We hope to see you all in Chicago in June 2027!
Behind the scenes, we are focused on strengthening the foundation of the Society. A new three-year strategic plan is underway, and a redesigned website is in development to make your member resources easier to find and access. If you haven't yet explored your member benefits — from free journal club to committee-developed clinical tools and reduced Annual Meeting rates — I encourage you to do so. There is a lot here for you.

Clinical TMS Society
TMS Training Committee: Recent accomplishments include a signed affiliation agreement with the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine and, in collaboration with the Education Committee, completion of the Basic TMS Introductory Webinar. We are developing an in-person TMS Master Class and a virtual TMS Technician/Operator Certification Course. The PAIN Academy has an October course in San Diego and is exploring expansion to Australia. The committee is also evaluating scalable educational pathways. Our Pathway Application Subcommittee is accepting applications for training programs for new TMS indications and new regional partnerships. Tell us about yourself and the work you do.
I'm a board-certified psychiatrist, TMS specialist, entrepreneur, and—most importantly outside of work—a father of two competitive fencers. I run Genesis TMS & Wellness, where I help patients seeking another option when depression or OCD has not responded as they hoped. I also serve on the CTMSS Membership & Outreach Committee and chair the Digital Presence Subcommittee, using social media to educate people about TMS and its real impact on patients and families.
What project, achievement, or initiative are you excited about right now?
I'm proud to have published my book, The Wellness Mindset: The SWOT Analysis of Your 8 Dimensions of Wellness. We often audit our businesses, careers, or finances but do not pause to look honestly at our own lives. The book offers a framework for identifying what is working, what is not, and where we can grow. Learn more at doctorolele.myshopify.com.
What lesson, resource, or tip would you share with fellow members?
Don't assume people understand TMS just because we do. Many patients, families, and even clinicians have never heard of it or have outdated ideas about it. We need to explain TMS in plain language and meet people where they are. Sometimes a short video, patient-friendly explanation, or good conversation can make TMS feel less intimidating.
How can we connect, collaborate, or support you in your TMS journey?
I'm always open to connecting with CTMSS members who are excited about TMS and helping others understand it. I enjoy collaborating on education, social media, speaking, outreach, and practical ways to reach patients, families, and referring clinicians. PAIN Academy: October 15, 2026
The PAIN Academy is CTMSS's newly developed training program tailored to providers interested in utilizing TMS for pain disorders. At this one-day conference, attendees will learn about Pain pathophysiology, TMS biomechanics and how these can be used clinically to treat a variety of pain disorders such as neuropathic pain, central pain, and fibromyalgia.

PULSES Providence October 23-25, 2026
This in-depth program is designed to provide comprehensive training for professionals in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. Developed by experienced clinicians and researchers from the Clinical TMS Society, the course provides current, historical, and practical knowledge for treating patients with TMS, grounded in evidence-based practices.
Key features of this course include:

- 2 hours of dedicated hands-on training with various TMS devices
- Lectures from leaders in the field, including Professor Anthony Barker, the designer of the first TMS machine

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is the Society's open-access journal and the first premier journal dedicated to clinical and foundational studies of TMS.
Members of the Research Committee host a quarterly journal club meeting during which published authors of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation present their research and answer attendee questions from attendees. Participation in the journal club—and journal access—is free and open to both Society members and non-members.
